Socotra Rock is a submerged rock in the Yellow Sea, lying about 4.6 meters below sea level at low tide and known also as Ieodo in Korean, Parangdo, and Suyan Islet in Chinese. Because a submerged rock outside a country's territorial sea cannot be claimed as territory under international maritime law, it belongs to no state, but it lies within overlapping exclusive economic zone claims made by China and South Korea. It sits about 149 kilometers southwest of Marado, off Jeju Island, South Korea.
