The Society Islands are an archipelago in Polynesia, in the South Pacific Ocean, and are politically part of French Polynesia, a semi-autonomous part of France. Tahiti is the largest and most populous island in the group, with Moorea, Raiatea, Bora Bora, and Huahine among the other major islands.
