The Snares Islands are an uninhabited group about 200 kilometers south of New Zealand's South Island, made up of North East Island, Broughton Island, Alert Stack and the Western Chain Islands, with a combined land area of 3.4 square kilometers. They are administered as an Area Outside Territorial Authority within New Zealand.
