Savandurga is a hill about 60 kilometers west of Bengaluru in Karnataka, India, described as the largest monolith hill in Asia. It reaches an elevation of about 1,226 meters as part of the Deccan Plateau, composed of peninsular gneiss, granite, basic dykes and laterite dating back some 2 to 3 billion years, and is formed of two linked rock masses locally known as Karigudda, the black hill, and Biligudda, the white hill. The Arkavathi River flows nearby through the Thippagondanahalli reservoir toward the Manchanabele dam, and the hill draws pilgrims to its temples as well as rock climbers and cavers. This entity documents Savandurga specifically as a geological formation, the largest monolith hill in Asia.
