Raouché (Pigeon Rocks)

Raouché, also called the Pigeon Rocks or the Rock of Raouché, is a natural landmark of two rock formations standing just offshore from the Raouché neighborhood of Beirut, Lebanon. The rocks rise from the sea along the Corniche of Beirut and have been a recognized coastal landmark since at least the late nineteenth century, when they already appeared in photographs under that name. The neighborhood itself takes its name from the French word rocher, meaning rock.
