Rainbow Glacier lies on the northeast slopes of Mount Baker in the North Cascades of Washington state. It descends to nearly 4,500 feet in elevation north of Lava Divide, and in the middle of its course connects with Park Glacier to its south and Mazama Glacier to its west. The glacier retreated about 4,494 feet between 1850 and 1950, advanced 1,679 feet during a cooler, wetter period from 1950 to 1979, and then retreated another 1,345 feet between 1980 and 2006.
