Pedra do Bau is a group of gneiss rock formations in the Mantiqueira Mountains near Sao Bento do Sapucai in Sao Paulo state, Brazil, comprising three principal features known as Pedra do Bau, Bauzinho and Ana Chata. Its highest point reaches 1,950 meters with a topographic prominence of 300 meters. The formation and its surrounding 3,154 hectares were declared the Pedra do Bau Natural Monument, a state conservation unit within the Mantiqueira Mosaic, in December 2010. More than 200 rock climbing routes, ranging from 15 to 400 meters in height, ascend its gneiss faces, and the first recorded ascent was made in 1940.
