Parangcho is a disputed submerged reef about 4.5 kilometers from Socotra Rock in the Yellow Sea, measuring 372 meters long by 169 meters wide at depths of 24 to 27 meters below the surface, an area of about 52,800 square meters. China named it Dingyan Islet in 1999 while South Korea adopted the name Parangcho in 2006, and South Korea Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has sought international recognition for that name, part of broader maritime boundary disputes in the region alongside Socotra Rock and the East China Sea.
