Paleocollapse is a rock structure resembling a karst landform that is instead formed by the dissolution of underlying sedimentary rock in the geologic past, also called paleo karst collapse. As the buried rock dissolves away, the formerly intact rock above it collapses, producing extensive fractures, debris pipes and open caverns, with the process normally begun and completed long before the present day.
