Pahranagat Valley

The Pahranagat Valley is a Tonopah Basin landform in Lincoln County, Nevada, stretching about 40 miles north to south. Its most fertile section forms a narrow green ribbon no wider than a mile, an oasis in the Nevada desert fed by three natural springs, Hiko Springs, Crystal Springs, and Ash Springs, and dotted with four lakes, Nesbitt Lake and Frenchie Lake in the north and Upper and Lower Pahranagat Lake to the south. The southern half, including the two southern lakes, forms the Pahranagat Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The Mount Irish Range and Pahranagat Range border it on the west and the Hiko Range on the east, and State Route 318 and U.S. Route 93 run its length, passing the communities of Hiko, Ash Springs, Richardville, and Alamo.
