Nevado San Francisco

Nevado San Francisco, also called Cerro San Francisco, is a stratovolcano on the border between Argentina's Catamarca province and Chile's Copiapo province, just southeast of the San Francisco Pass. It is considered extinct and is one of several peaks above 6,000 meters in the area, the tallest of which is the nearby Ojos del Salado. This entity documents Nevado San Francisco specifically as a geological formation, an extinct border stratovolcano in the high country surrounding Ojos del Salado.
