A mushroom rock, also called a pedestal rock, rock pedestal or gour, is a naturally occurring rock whose shape resembles a mushroom. Mushroom rocks are shaped in a number of ways, including erosion and weathering, glacial action, or a sudden disturbance, and are related to, but distinct from, the yardang.
