Mukojima Islands

The Mukojima Islands, formerly known as the Parry Group, are a group of uninhabited small islands with a combined land area of 586 hectares in the Bonin Islands group of Japan's Nanpo Archipelago, roughly 900 to 1,100 kilometres south of Tokyo. The group includes Kitanojima, Mukojima, Nakodo-jima, Yomejima and Maejima along with smaller islets; Mukojima, at 257 hectares, is the largest by area, while Nakodo-jima, at 155 metres, is the highest. Their original forests have been badly reduced by browsing feral goats and the erosion that followed.
