The Minerva Reefs are two submerged atolls in the Pacific Ocean between Fiji and Tonga, sitting on dormant volcanic seamounts. North Reef is about 6.8 kilometers across and South Reef about 4.8 kilometers across. The reefs have drawn competing territorial claims and were briefly the site of a 1972 libertarian micronation attempt, the Republic of Minerva, before Tongan forces reasserted control.
