Mexico Rocks is a shallow patch reef complex off the far northern tip of Ambergris Caye, part of the Belize Barrier Reef system in the Caribbean Sea. It consists of roughly 100 Holocene patch reefs, composed predominantly of boulder star corals, clustered on a Pleistocene limestone ridge in water 2.5 to 5 meters deep that has accumulated over the last 420 years under stable sea levels; it was recommended for protection in 1978 and became part of the Hol Chan Marine Reserve in 2015.
