Matthes Glacier is a glacier about 9 nautical miles long on the east coast of Graham Land, Antarctica, flowing east into Whirlwind Inlet between Demorest Glacier and Chamberlin Glacier. It was discovered by Sir Hubert Wilkins during a flight on 20 December 1928, photographed from the air by the United States Antarctic Service in 1940, and charted by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1947, when it was named for François E. Matthes, then chief geologist with the United States Geological Survey.
