Malaspina Glacier is the largest piedmont glacier in the world, lying in southeastern Alaska between Icy Bay and Yakutat Bay at the head of the Alaska Panhandle. It measures about 65 kilometers wide and 45 kilometers long, an area comparable to Rhode Island, and is formed from three converging glaciers, the Seward, Agassiz and Marvine-Hayden, which flow out of the Saint Elias Mountains onto the coastal plain facing the Gulf of Alaska.
