Mahagnao Volcano rises within Barangay Mahagnao in the municipality of Burauen, Leyte province, in the Philippines, bordered by the neighboring municipalities of La Paz and MacArthur. It is a dormant stratovolcano, currently inactive, surrounded by dense wetland forest that gives rise to many of the rivers and streams flowing through Burauen and its neighboring towns, making the mountain an important local watershed as well as a landform. This entity documents Mahagnao Volcano specifically as a geological formation, a dormant Leyte stratovolcano whose forested slopes feed the surrounding towns' river systems.
