The Lower Grindelwald Glacier is a glacier in the Swiss Bernese Alps southeast of Grindelwald, starting below the Agassizhorn and the Strahlegghorner and connected to the Finsteraar Glacier through the Finsteraarjoch. It covered about 20.8 square kilometres and measured roughly 8.3 kilometres long in 1973, but has since shrunk substantially, down to about 6.2 kilometres by 2015 with most of that retreat occurring after 2007; in the mid-19th century the glacier reached much farther down the valley, as far as Mettenberg near Grindelwald.
