The Konkordiaplatz, or Concordia Place, is a flat expanse of snow and ice lying just south of the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is the junction of four large glaciers descending from the Aletschfirn, the Jungfraufirn, the Ewigschneefeld and the Gruneggfirn, and it is the source of the main Aletsch Glacier. The Konkordiaplatz Charter was signed there by municipalities of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, committing to preserve the aesthetic beauty of the region.
