Kintla Glacier lies in Glacier National Park in Montana, on a plateau about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) southwest of Kintla Peak, between roughly 8,700 and 7,700 feet (2,700 and 2,300 meters) in elevation. Heavily crevassed, it is actually two glaciers with a combined area of about 280 acres (110 hectares) as of 2005, a 34 percent decrease in area since 1966, and its terminus now rests on moraine and talus.
