Khumbu is a region of northeastern Nepal on the Nepalese side of Mount Everest, part of the Solukhumbu District within Koshi Province. It is one of three subregions of the main Kirat Rai and Sherpa settlement of the Himalaya, alongside Solu and Pharak, and includes the town of Namche Bazaar and the villages of Thame, Khumjung, Pangboche, Pheriche, and Kunde, as well as the Buddhist monastery at Tengboche.
