Jubba Valley

The Jubba Valley is a valley in the Horn of Africa that follows the Jubba River north from the Indian Ocean to the Somalia-Ethiopia border. At that border it splits into two branches, one following the Dawa River west along the Ethiopia-Kenya frontier before turning north into Ethiopia, the other following the Ganale Dorya River north into Ethiopia, so the valley spans Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Its Somali portion is known as Jubaland, and BirdLife International recognizes the valley as an Endemic Bird Area, a designation it shares with the nearby Shebelle Valley and the Chamo and Abaya lakes.
