Jengish Chokusu, also known as Pobeda Peak, stands on the border between Ak-Suu District in Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul Region and Wensu County in China's Xinjiang region, southeast of Lake Issyk-Kul, reaching an elevation of about 7,439 meters. It is the highest summit of the Tian Shan mountain system, part of the Kakshaal Too subrange, the highest section of the Tian Shan, and the world's sixteenth-most topographically prominent peak, a non-volcanic massif raised by the same tectonic forces building the wider Tian Shan.
