Humboldt Glacier is a major tidewater glacier in northern Greenland, named for the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt. Its calving front measures about 110 kilometers across, making it the widest tidewater glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, and it fringes Peabody Bay near the McGary Islands. The glacier has been in consistent retreat over the period observed from 1975 to 2010.
