The Horns of Hattin is an extinct volcano with twin peaks overlooking the plains of Hattin in the Lower Galilee region of Israel. Its two horn like summits, which give the formation its name, are visible from a considerable distance across the surrounding countryside. The Hebrew name reflects the wheat growing plains below, and the site is also known as the location of the 1187 Battle of Hattin between Saladin and the Crusaders.
