Holcomb Valley is a valley in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, about five miles north of Big Bear Lake. It takes its name from William F. Holcomb, who discovered gold there in 1860 in a find that touched off the largest gold rush in the region's history. The boomtown of Belleville grew up near the strike and flourished for roughly a decade before being abandoned, and the valley is now registered as California Historical Landmark No. 619.
