Haukadalur is a valley in the Bláskógabyggð municipality of southwestern Iceland, about 110 kilometers northeast of Reykjavík, known for its intense geothermal activity. It holds the geysers Strokkur and Geysir, the source of the English word geyser, along with more than 40 other hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles, and it has drawn visitors since the 18th century.
