The Gorges de l'Ardèche is a roughly thirty-kilometer canyon cut by the Ardèche river in southeastern France, running from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc to Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche and known locally as the European Grand Canyon. Its lower reaches mark the boundary between the Ardèche and Gard departments, and the gorge draws over a million visitors a year along with a rich record of historical and archaeological sites.
