The Gietro Glacier, also called the Gietroz Glacier, is a valley glacier about 4 kilometers long in southwestern Switzerland. The 1818 Gietro Glacier catastrophe, in which an ice dam failure triggered a lake outburst flood, ranks among the worst disasters in the history of the Swiss Alps.
