The Fergana Valley is a large intermontane basin in Central Asia, crossing eastern Uzbekistan, southern Kyrgyzstan and northern Tajikistan. It lies between the Tien Shan mountains to the north and the Alay range to the south, forming a depression about 300 kilometers long and up to 70 kilometers wide.
