Elora Gorge is a limestone gorge on the Grand River at the western edge of Elora, Ontario, Canada, about 25 kilometers north of Guelph. The gorge, whose cliffs rise as high as 22 meters, was carved by glacial meltwater draining from the ice sheet that covered the region during the last ice age. Upstream, the Elora Gorge Falls drop about 7.6 meters, and the surrounding 145 hectare Elora Gorge Conservation Area, established in 2006, protects roughly 2 kilometers of the gorge along with the nearby Elora Quarry, a former limestone quarry now used for swimming.
