El Penon de Guatape is a massive granitic and monzonitic rock monolith rising roughly two hundred meters above the surrounding landscape near the town of Guatape in Antioquia, Colombia. A staircase of more than seven hundred steps, built into a crack running up one side of the rock, leads visitors to a summit platform overlooking the artificial lakes of the El Penol-Guatape reservoir system, making it one of Colombia's most visited natural landmarks.
