Eagle Valley is a valley in western Nevada, a tributary basin of the Carson River, that contains the city of Carson City. Settled during the California Gold Rush of 1849, it grew in importance after the 1859 discovery of the Comstock Lode nearby, and Abraham Curry later set aside 10 acres at its center for the site of the Nevada State Capitol, making the valley the seat of Nevada government. Runoff draining the surrounding basin has periodically flooded Carson City, notably in January 1997.
