The Dalradian Supergroup is a sequence of rock strata across the Grampian Highlands of Scotland and the north and west of Ireland, deposited from the late Tonian through the early Ordovician, roughly 725 to 470 million years ago. It consists of metamorphosed marine sediment, mainly psammite, pelite and semipelite along with quartzite and limestone, originally laid down as sand, mud and silt before later metamorphism transformed it.
