The Dachstein Glacier lies between the towns of Ramsau am Dachstein to the south and Hallstatt and Obertraun to the north, in Austria, at the meeting point of the states of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria. Snow covers the top of the glacier throughout the year, though it softens in summer.
