Cool Glacier lies on the east slopes of Glacier Peak in the U.S. state of Washington, descending from about 10,200 feet to 6,900 feet in elevation, and is partially connected to the Chocolate Glacier to its north just below the peak's summit. Like the other glaciers on Glacier Peak, Cool Glacier has been retreating overall, losing about 1,500 meters of length between 1850 and 1946; it briefly advanced during a cooler, wetter period from about 1950 to 1979 before resuming its retreat, and by 2005 it stood within about 40 meters of the minimum length it had reached in 1946.
