Complex Volcano

A complex volcano, also called a compound volcano or volcanic complex, is a mixed landform made up of related volcanic centers together with their associated lava flows and pyroclastic rock. Such structures develop as a volcano eruptive style shifts or its main vent migrates over time; a stratovolcano, for instance, may build a large caldera that later fills with a lava dome, or it may produce several smaller cinder cones, lava domes, and craters strung along the caldera rim.
