Chuuk Lagoon, formerly known as Truk Atoll, is an atoll in the central Pacific Ocean, about 1,800 kilometers northeast of New Guinea and part of Chuuk State in the Federated States of Micronesia. A protective barrier reef roughly 225 kilometers around encloses a natural harbor measuring 79 by 50 kilometers, with a total lagoon area of about 2,130 square kilometers. The atoll has a combined land area of 93.07 square kilometers and a highest point of 443 meters, and its capital, Weno, is also the largest city in the Federated States of Micronesia.
