The Churchill Craton is the northwestern section of the Canadian Shield, an ancient and stable block of continental crust stretching from southern Saskatchewan and Alberta north to Nunavut. Its Archean-age Western Churchill province records a complicated and protracted tectonic history, marking a major change in the craton own structural development over time.
