The Chimanimani Mountains straddle the border between Zimbabwe and Mozambique in the southern Eastern Highlands, between the Zambezi and Save rivers. Much of the range is built of quartzite ridges running north to south, culminating at Monte Binga, 2,436 meters, the highest point in Mozambique, with Mawenje at 2,362 meters and Mount Dombe at 2,188 meters among its other notable summits. Zimbabwe's Chimanimani National Park and an adjoining Mozambican reserve together protect the range as the Chimanimani Transfrontier Conservation Area.
