A chevron, in this sense, is a wedge shaped sediment deposit found on coastlines and in continental interiors around the world. The term was first applied, independently by different researchers, to large V shaped, sub linear to parabolic landforms identified in southwestern Egypt and on islands in the eastern, windward Bahamas.
