Chapursan is a valley containing about eight scattered villages in the Gojal Tehsil of the Hunza District in Gilgit-Baltistan, near Pakistan's borders with Afghanistan's Wakhan District and China's Xinjiang region. Predominantly inhabited by ethnic Wakhis, with the village of Raminj home to ethnic Burushos, the valley holds more than 500 households and an estimated population of 3,000, most adhering to the Isma'ili sect of Shia Islam.
