Castle Crags is a group of steep granite spires in the Klamath Mountains of Northern California, near the town of Dunsmuir and within view of Mount Shasta. The spires formed from a granite intrusion, the Castle Crags pluton, exposed and sculpted by erosion of the softer surrounding rock. The formation is protected within Castle Crags State Park and is part of the larger Castle Crags Wilderness.
