Bugle Rock, known locally as Kahale Bande, is a massive outcrop of rock in the Basavanagudi area of south Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. It rises abruptly from the surrounding ground and is built of peninsular gneiss, specifically a dark biotite gneiss of granitic to granodioritic composition, with an estimated age of about three billion years, among the oldest exposed rock in India. The outcrop covers about sixteen acres and is geologically continuous with similar rock exposures at the nearby Lal Bagh gardens. This entity documents Bugle Rock specifically as a geological formation.
