Breiðamerkurjökull is an outlet and piedmont glacier of the larger Vatnajökull ice cap, in the southern part of Iceland's Vatnajökull National Park. It ends in two lagoons, the well known Jökulsárlón and the smaller, lesser known Breiðárlón, and has been retreating over time.
