Blackfoot Glacier

Blackfoot Glacier is the second largest of the 25 glaciers remaining in Glacier National Park, Montana, lying just north of Blackfoot Mountain near Jackson Glacier. Measured most recently in 2015 at 370 acres, it was part of a single ice mass with the now-separate Jackson Glacier when first documented in 1850, together covering 1,875 acres at that time; the park held an estimated 150 glaciers in 1850, and glaciologists have said all of the glaciers in the park could disappear by 2030 absent a more modest rise in carbon dioxide levels.
