The Biafo Glacier lies in the Karakoram range of Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region, in the Hispar Valley of Nagar District, and ranks among the largest glaciers in the entire Karakoram range at 67 kilometers long. It flows southeastward from the central Karakoram crest and drains a basin of 853 square kilometers, of which 628 square kilometers is permanent snow and ice, with the accumulation zone making up 68 percent of the glacier's total area.
