The Belogradchik Rocks are a group of strangely shaped sandstone and conglomerate formations on the western slopes of the Balkan Mountains near the town of Belogradchik in northwestern Bulgaria. The rocks range in colour from red to yellow, some rising as high as 200 metres, and many have taken on fantastic shapes that folk legend has named after the people or objects they resemble. Declared a Natural Landmark by the Bulgarian government, they are also the only known habitat of the critically endangered Bulgarian endemic plant Hieracium belogradcense.
