Bell Rock is a bell shaped sandstone butte in the red rock country around Sedona, Arizona, formed from the Permian age Schnebly Hill Formation, a sequence of sandstone layers whose deep red orange color comes from iron oxide in the rock. It rises from the surrounding high desert as one of the most recognizable formations in the Sedona area and is a popular hiking destination.
